This cover, based on Jim Cowan's story "The Gardener", was created by Jeff Quan (jquan@west.darkside.com) in Adobe Illustrator on an Apple Macintosh computer. To make sure the sphere's reflections were accurate, he drew the scene and then used 3-D modeling software to project where the reflections would fall.

Jeff currently works for the Oakland Tribune newspaper, and lives in San Francisco, California.
